Wealth Management Centered on the Whole Picture
Effective wealth management requires more than managing a portfolio. It begins with understanding what your wealth is intended to accomplish and coordinating the financial decisions that support those objectives.
Wessels Private Wealth works with individuals and families to develop and maintain strategies built around their goals, circumstances, priorities, and tolerance for risk.
Our approach combines planning, investment management, ongoing oversight, and coordination across the areas of a client’s financial life that can influence one another.
Investment Management
Investment strategy should serve the broader financial plan.
We help develop and oversee investment strategies with consideration for each client’s objectives, time horizon, liquidity needs, risk tolerance, and overall financial circumstances.
Rather than reacting to short-term market movements, our focus is on disciplined portfolio construction, appropriate diversification, risk management, and maintaining a strategy designed around the client’s long-term objectives.
Retirement and Income Planning
The transition from accumulating wealth to using it presents a different set of decisions.
We help clients evaluate retirement timing, anticipated spending, available income sources, portfolio distributions, Social Security and other retirement benefits, and the role different assets may play over time.
The objective is to create a coordinated strategy for funding the life a client wants while remaining attentive to longevity, liquidity, taxes, market risk, and changing circumstances.
Tax-Aware Planning
Taxes can materially affect financial decisions and long-term outcomes.
We consider tax implications when evaluating investment, distribution, retirement, and other planning strategies. When appropriate, we coordinate with a client’s CPA or other tax professionals so financial decisions can be considered within the context of their broader tax situation.
Wessels Private Wealth does not provide tax advice; our role is to help ensure tax considerations are incorporated into the planning process.
Estate and Legacy Coordination
For many families, wealth planning extends beyond their own lifetime.
We help clients think through estate and legacy objectives, beneficiary considerations, wealth transfer priorities, and how financial assets fit within their broader estate plan.
When legal advice or estate documents are required, we work in coordination with the client’s attorney and other professionals. Our role is to help connect the financial strategy with the legacy the client intends to create.
Risk and Insurance Considerations
Risk management is an important component of a comprehensive financial strategy.
Where appropriate, we evaluate how insurance and other risk-management considerations interact with a client’s financial plan, family responsibilities, retirement objectives, estate planning, and overall balance sheet.
The purpose is not to view any individual financial product in isolation, but to understand the role it may or may not play within the broader strategy.
Ongoing Wealth Oversight
Financial planning is not a one-time exercise.
Markets change. Tax laws evolve. Families grow and circumstances shift. Careers end, businesses change hands, assets are inherited, and priorities develop over time.
Our work is therefore designed as an ongoing advisory relationship. We review progress, revisit assumptions, evaluate new decisions, and adjust the strategy as a client’s financial life evolves.
Coordination Matters
Clients with significant wealth often have multiple professionals involved in their financial lives.
When appropriate, we work alongside attorneys, CPAs, insurance professionals, and other advisors to help clients maintain greater coordination across their financial affairs.
The goal is straightforward: a clearer understanding of the whole picture and a disciplined strategy for moving forward.
